Scotch is basically a distilled Beer, as it’s made using malted barley (or other grains). The difference lies in the “wash”—Scotch doesn’t add the hops. And we’re perfectly fine with that.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\n4) Although popular lore may have you believe differently, Bourbon doesn’t have to made in Kentucky. \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSorry Bluegrassers\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, you just don’t have claim to that. However, for a Whiskey to be classified as Bourbon, it does have to be made in the United States. Stars and stripes (and 51% corn) forever.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\n5) A Rum by any other name would taste as sweet. And there are \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eplenty of other names\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e: Nelson's blood, kill-devil, demon water, pirate's drink, navy neaters, Barbados water, grog, and rumbullion are all perfectly acceptable.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\n6) Turns out, the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSpanish know a thing or two\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e about Brandy. But first, you’re going to have to call it by its proper name: \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBrandy de Jerez\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. And much like the French version, Spanish Brandy can only be produced in a designated region, specifically from around the Andalucian city of Jerez. It’s the same place Sherry’s produced.
