This test socket is good for any \u003cstrong\u003eSOIC\/SOP \"Narrow\" 8 pin chip\u003c\/strong\u003e in a \u003cstrong\u003e150mil wide body\u003c\/strong\u003e. Simply press down on the top, place the chip in carefully and then release to latch the chip in. The chip is held securely against gold 'fingers' in the socket. \u003cstrong\u003e200mil or wider chips will not fit\u003c\/strong\u003e, but we do have other sockets for medium\/wide SOIC chips.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe socket is soldered onto a pair of PCBs that turn it into, essentially, a \u003cstrong\u003e16 pin DIP\u003c\/strong\u003e with \u003cstrong\u003e0.6\" spacing\u003c\/strong\u003e that can be breadboarded fairly easily.
