Koval was the first small batch distillery in Chicago since the dark days of Prohibition. It was founded in 2008 by Robert and Sonat Birnecker who abandoned their academic careers to follow their hearts — and taste buds — into the spirits business. The distillery supports sustainable agriculture and is certified organic and kosher. In nine short years they have expanded their miracle-working to no fewer than twenty Gins, Whiskies, Liqueurs, and specialty offerings, all of them professionally crafted and tasty-good.
 
Koval Barreled Gin is like two products in one. Fans of their signature Dry Gin will immediately notice the familiar crisp freshness of the rose hips, juniper, angelica root, and coriander that makes their Gin sing. But if you are a fan of the Koval Whiskey line you will recognize the familiar vanilla notes and creamy texture.
