Coconut OilCocos nucifera L. (= Cocos mamillaris Blanco), commonly known as coco, coconut or coconut palm, is a palm from the Arecaceae family. Coconut oil is composed of lauric acid’s triglycerides, it has an elevated affinity with hair proteins and, due to its low molecular weight and linear chain structure, is able to penetrate to the deepest layers of hair fibers. Therefore, it is highly recommended when formulating cosmetic products to protect and/or repair hair without weighing it down. |
